To celebrate the first major architectural exhibition commissioned by Objectspace, PAC Studio’s Penumbral Reflections, a symposium will be held to gather practitioners and academics researching through the medium of architectural design in New Zealand.

This symposium aims to collect the wide variety of approaches applied in architectural design research within a New Zealand context. The event will offer researchers and practitioners an opportunity to discuss the state of design research, education and integration into commercial practice. Of special interest is the tailoring of design research methodologies to a New Zealand context, and the challenges of carrying out such research in New Zealand. Leading researchers within this field will present their recent work and there will be the opportunity to take part in a design research workshop.
