Objectspace presents the first lifetime survey show of internationally-renowned Auckland basket maker Ruth Castle.

Curated especially for Objectspace by Dr. Damian Skinner, New Zealand's leading applied arts curator and author, and currently Auckland Museum Curator of Applied Arts.

This retrospective exhibition will bring together works from leading public and private collections from around New Zealand, and showcase some of Castle's most iconic pieces. The exhibition will also display the processes she engages to create them, and sheds light on the complex and beautiful baskets she creates.

Now a senior maker, Ruth Castle's highly original work is now avidly sought by a new generation of collectors, designers and stylists, from auction houses and high-end design retailers such as Ponsonby store Everyday Needs.
