 Objectspace is a dedicated centre for craft and design located at 8 Ponsonby Rd Auckland. We are a non-commercial space administered by a charitable trust. We see Objectspace as a lively space for a diverse programme of makers and curators projects, rather than a traditional ‘gallery space’, which will significantly contribute to professional development across the objectmaking sector. Since opening in mid 2004 the thousands of visitors to Objectspace have shown that a dedicated centre for objects and objectmaking is an important and needed cultural resource for Auckland and New Zealand. Objectspace is housed in a landmark building, with high street visibility, within the Karangahape Road/Ponsonby visual arts precinct, the home of about 20 visual arts galleries. Objectspace comprises a main gallery visible from the street and a small gallery that is primarily the location of the Vault Programme.
