Objectspace is a dedicated and award winning centre for innovative craft and design that puts objects into play through a programme of exhibitions, publications and activities. Much of our programme features contemporary works that push boundaries. However we also show innovative work from throughout craft and design history. As a non-commercial space wholly focused on promoting innovative practice Objectspace is unique in New Zealand. Objectspace connects objects and makers with audiences in order expand the cultural, economic and social options for objectmaking.
Since opening in mid 2004 the thousands of visitors to Objectspace have demonstrated that a dedicated centre for objectmaking is an important and needed cultural resource for Auckland and New Zealand.
Objectspace is interested in working with a range of object makers, designers, collectors, curators and writers to develop and present a distinctive and engaging programme that spans the fields of contemporary and historical craft and design. |
